28 Best Black Friday Travel Deals 2022: Save on Hotels, Airfare, Cruises, and Tours

Thanksgiving is tomorrow—and while you probably think you’re too busy prepping to hang out a minute longer on the Internet, we’re going to have to stop you right there. Black Friday travel deals are popping up left and right, and even though you may not want to add another item to your to-do list, you would be wise to do just one more thing: book some 2023 travel while the prices are as low as they’ll get all year. Here, you’ll find sales from a number of hotels, cruise lines, and airlines—including some Readers’ Choice Award winners. Some of the sales continue well into December, and others apply to the next two months of travel, making them convenient for last-minute holiday trips and giving the gift of travel.

Hurtigruten Expeditions

Hurtigruten has doubled down on its commitment to sustainability in recent years, launching two hybrid-powered ships (the MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen). The line’s expedition cruises are up to 50 percent off for Black Friday. A highlights of Antarctica tour is going for just $7,447 (previously more than $11,000), and a Galapagos Island expedition now costs $7,219 (previously $10,900).

Atlas Voyages

Yacht-style cruise line Atlas Voyages is having an opportune moment to book a journey. Voyages booked by November 29 will come with an up-to-$1000 air credit, 50-percent-off deposit, and the second guest sailing for free. The deal applies to cruises sailing from April through October, 2023, to locations such as the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords, British Isles, Iceland, Greenland, and the Mediterranean.

Seabourn Cruise Line 

Seabourn recently won Readers’ Choice Awards for both medium and small ships—and select sailings through next summer are now on sale. With up to 15 percent savings on select voyages, passengers can save an average of $3,000 per suite. The sale runs through December 5, and there are tons of great itineraries on sale, including a cruise around the Greek isles and an itinerary that takes you through the Panama Canal with stops in Colombia and Costa Rica. 

Celebrity Cruises

Looking to sail on one of the most high-tech ships out there? Look to the Celebrity Apex. For Black Friday, the ship, along with the rest of Celebrity cruise ships, is offering major discounts on sailings between December 2, 2022, and April 30, 2025—the largest booking window we’ve seen. The benefits include 75 percent off of a second guest, up to $800 off per stateroom, and an up-to-$800 onboard credit per stateroom. Good for sailings in the Caribbean and Europe, you’ll have plenty to chose from, though we’d book a tour of the Italian riviera and France next summer. 

Flights

JetBlue

The U.S.’s sixth largest carrier—well-liked by passengers for its comfy seats, extra economy leg room, and in-flight entertainment—is running a Black Friday holiday savings offer for complete, all-inclusive vacation packages. Travelers can save up to $750 on bundled flight and hotel and flight and cruise packages when booked by November 29, 2022, for travel from December 5, 2022, through October 15, 2023. Featured destinations include Aruba, Orlando, and Punta Cana.

Play

Low-cost Icelandic airline Play, whose regular rotation of deals we are constantly tracking, is offering an even better one for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Travel Tuesday. For flights purchased between November 24-29, travelers flying out of Boston (BOS), Baltimore/Washington D.C. (BWI), and Newburgh, New York (SWF) can take 35 percent off flights to Iceland and 40 percent off flights to all of Play’s other 23 European destinations. The deal is valid on travel booked between November 24, 2022, and March 31, 2023.

Hotels

Booking.com

This Black Friday, Booking.com is offering a wide variety of deals across the country. The mega bookings service is offering travelers a discount of at least 30 percent off of participating accommodations across the globe, including 898 properties in the United States alone. The Booking.com Black Friday deals will be available for purchase until December 1, 2022, and are valid for stays until December 31, 2023.

World of Hyatt

Hyatt fans can get holiday savings up to 20 percent off when they book by November 30, 2022, choosing from more than 950 participating hotels. The deal is valid on stays through April 30, 2023. Look for the “Lock in savings. Unlock the possibilities” deal on each hotel’s offers page, and use code UNLOCK to book your qualifying stay. The deal applies to stays between November 10 and April 30. If you want eligibility for a greater discount, register for the World of Hyatt loyalty program if you’re not already.

Domestic hotels

The William Vale

The William Vale is a Traveler favorite, holding a coveted spot on our list of the best hotels in NYC and being a five-time Readers’ Choice Award winner. So go ahead, snatch up this deal for your next New York trip and finally explore Brooklyn if you typically stay in Midtown. Through Cyber Monday, the hotel will be offering its lowest rates of 2022. Rooms are available at fixed rates starting at $175 a night for a queen room with a balcony, $425 a night for suites, and $2,500 for the Vale Garden Residence (a.k.a. the penthouse suite). The special applies to all stays happening through December 31st, 2023, (except for black out dates) using the promo code CYBER22.

Virgin Hotels

Virgin Hotels’ six U.S. properties (in New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, New Orleans, and Las Vegas) are offering a discount that extends well beyond Cyber Week. Travelers can save up to 30 percent on the best available rate for stays between now and December 31, 2023—plus, two lucky travelers who book the deal will be upgraded to a penthouse each week that the promotion runs. The deal lasts through January 2, 2023, too, so you have plenty of time to cash in.

Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Four-time Readers’ Choice Awards winner, beachfront Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, is steeply discounting rates, making it an ideal option for East Coast cold weather travelers’ looking for a quick Florida escape in January or February. Beginning on Black Friday (November 25), the high-value deal includes 30 percent off one- and two-bedroom luxury apartments; daily breakfast for two at the hotel restaurant, The Strand; a $200 resort credit; and complimentary valet service.

Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod, Massachusetts

A Readers’ Choice Award favorite set on 25 oceanfront acres, the Chatham Bars Inn has New England charm in spades. For Black Friday, the inn is offering a $200 resort credit per room—redeemable at all Chatham Bars Inn restaurants, spa, boating, and more—for select summer 2023 vacation dates. The sale runs through December 3, so you’ll have time to find the perfect weekend to plan a seaside getaway.

Graduate hotels

Planning a visit to a collegian in 2023 or looking to find the most well-designed place to stay in a college town? Graduate has you covered. The brand sets up shop near universities like Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi; Northwestern University in Evanston, just outside of Chicago; and UC Berkeley in northern California. Through December 2, Graduate is offering up to 50 percent off stays at all of its properties. The sale applies to stays between now and March 31, 2023.

Kaimana Beach Hotel, Oahu, Hawaii

After a delightfully colorful, boho-chic update in spring 2021, Kaimana Beach Hotel opened its revamped doors—and is now offering a 25 percent discount so you can check it our for yourself. The deal runs through November 30 and applies to stays through the next year. 

Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York

Filling an impressive Victorian castle set on a private lake in New York’s Hudson Valley, the Mohonk Mountain House is one of our readers’ favorites, winning five years of Readers’ Choice Awards in a row. Public Hotel, New York City

Public—whose Instagram-friendly escalators have been popping up on social media feeds since the day it opened—is offering up to 30 percent off of rooms and 40 percent off of suites this Black Friday. The slew of other perks includes a $30 to $50 daily credit for food and beverages, priority reservations at the bar and restaurant, and guaranteed admission to the rooftop. The deal applies to stays through March 31, and must be booked by November 28.

Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego, California

About 30 miles north of downtown San Diego, Rancho Bernardo Inn is the kind of place you plan an entire trip around—because you never really have to leave. With 265 manicured acres, large rooms, an excellent spa, an 18-hole Championship golf course, and two on-site restaurants, everything you need is within strolling distance. Book by December 5 to get up to 50 percent off the best available rate, plus a $50 daily dining credit to use at the aforementioned restaurants or the grab-and-go café. Surf & Sand Resort, Laguna Beach, California

A five-time Readers’ Choice Award winner, the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach sits on 500 feet of shoreline. Book a spring vacation (the deal is valid for travel through March 31, 2023) to get 50 percent off the resort’s best available rate, plus with a $50 food and beverage credit for each day of your stay. The deal is good between now and December 5, so you have a little time to decide which of the resort’s spa treatments you want to book alongside your room.

Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection, Belize

The Alaia Belize, an Autograph Collection hotel that opened in May 2021, is offering a fourth night free, or seven nights for the cost of five, for its Black Friday deal. The deal is good for stays booked between November 25-28, 2022, for travel between January 2 and December 15, 2023. Be sure to visit the dive shop to plan snorkeling and scuba diving excursions (including a number of PADI certification sessions); the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System is just a few hundred yards offshore.

Cape Fahn, Thailand

Back in fall 2019, we called out Cape Fahn, a private island off of Thailand’s popular Koh Samui, as one of the hottest openings of the season. Now, come 2022, the resort, with its relaxing lanais and three saltwater pools, has weathered the pandemic and closed borders, and is still coming out on top. Cape Fahn is offering a Black Friday and Cyber Monday through which guests can enjoy 45 percent off rates when they book now through November 28.

CitizenM hotels

This deal is worth planning around because all of CitizenM’s hotel rooms will be up to 30 percent off during its extended Black Friday sale. (If you sign up for CitizenM’s membership or use the app, you’ll get an even higher discount, up to 33 percent off.) The deal runs through November 29 and applies to travel between now and June 30, 2023. Known for petite (150-square-foot) but well-designed rooms and bustling public spaces, CitizenM has hotels across the globe, notably in city centers where boutique hotels can cost a pretty penny. Book rooms at their newest hotels (the Downtown Los Angeles and San Francisco Union Square locations) or one of the tried and true spots in Glasgow, Scotland, or Taipei.

Kimpton hotels

Kimpton is joining the Cyber Week fray, offering 10 to 20 percent off stays at select hotels between November 25, 2022, and April 30, 2023. The sale, which runs through December 5, includes properties like the Kimpton Vividora in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter; Ella’s Cottages, Kimpton’s set of 22 private bungalows in Key West; Austin’s Hotel Van Zandt; and the design-centric Kimpton Da An in Taipei. Plus, with every booking, Kimpton will donate $5 per night to No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit working to end child hunger in the U.S.

Viceroy hotels

A bunch of hotels in the Viceroy family (think Sugar Beach in St. Lucia, the Viceroy Santa Monica, and San Francisco’s Hotel Zetta) are offering up to 35 percent off. Tour operators

Collective Retreats Camping

Collective retreats, a luxury travel brand offering five-star accommodations in outdoor locations where hotels are inaccessible, is making their experiences more doable this Black Friday. Now through November 29 at 11:59 pm, travelers can take 40 percent off weekday stays and 30 percent off weekend stays on Governors Island, New York; in Hill Country, Texas; and in Vail, Colorado. EF Go Ahead Tours

The travel company EF Go Ahead Tours offers 175 different guided group trip tours around the globe, and leading up to Black Friday, it is discounting rates in a major way. The company has been releasing different deals each week. Today, for example, is the last day of their week-long “bucket-list worthy” destinations sale, including Costa Rica, Portugal, and more. On Black Friday, however, the grand finale of it all, there will be a special lighting sale. So be sure to check back to rake in the surprise savings.

GetYourGuide

GetYourGuide—a global online booking platform for adventurous travel experiences—is offering a major Black Friday sale as well. From now through November 28, travelers can get up to 50 percent off select GetYourGuide experiences for experiences taking place between through November, 2023. Eligible experiences include a desert safari in Dubai, a voodoo tour of the French Quarter in New Orleans, and more.

Contiki

A tour company that caters to 18- to 35-year-olds, Contiki is offering up to 25 percent off on more than half of its group travel itineraries, bookable now through December 1. With trips to six of the seven continents, you’ve got a lot to choose from, including weekend excursions, month-long adventures, and two-week vacations in destinations like Zimbabwe, Malaysia, and Croatia. And if you’re worried about going it alone on one of the tours, know that about 70 percent of Contiki travelers are embarking solo. 

Epic ski pass

Ok, so this deal isn’t exclusive to Black Friday, but it’s worth checking out if you’re an avid skier: Through December 4, Epic pass price have been reduced by 20 percent. The main Epic Pass, currently at $949, offers you unlimited access—even during the holidays—to slopes at Colorado’s Vail and Breckenridge; Park City, Utah; and Canada’s Whistler Blackcomb, among others. Plus pass-holders get discounted lift tickets for friends and family; 20 percent off food, lessons, and rentals. Compare the passes on Epic’s site to find the best option for you. The passes go back to full price on December 5, so act fast if you’re looking for savings.
