Now, the corporation — which is also operate by a team of Californians who recently moved to Hawaii — is reportedly beneath investigation by the town of Honolulu.

“This was not just a camping outfit. This was glamping in its whole hewa resource. I mean, it was a bar, a tall bar, established up with bar stools,” Waimanalo Community Board Member Kapua Medeiros informed the outlet.

In accordance to their web page, Glamping Hawaii features extravagant tent offers that can be outfitted with 5-foot-tall teak kitchens, hearth pits, and bars for excess costs. “Folks fork out to appear and exploit Hawaii and have an authentic Hawaiian knowledge,” she carries on in a recorded video, zooming in on the glampsite. “Meanwhile, right there is the genuine Hawaiian encounter,” she states, panning to the homeless encampment. “That’s uncomfortable.”

A single Yelp person, Keks Manera5, left a a single-star overview admonishing the company’s actions. ” … This is this kind of a slap in the confront to Indigenous Hawaiians/kanaka Maoli and the local generations that been here for decades who are having difficulties to endure and get by. … Hawaiʻi is so more than the greed and exploitation of the islands. PACK IT ALL UP …”

“This is not an attack on commercial action, but it is a warning, a shoutout to all enterprise owners who are working on our parks and shorelines that you are not welcome here. And we handed a law to cement that,” Waimanalo Community Board Member Kapua Medeiros explained to Hawaii News Now.
