For 2022, Black Friday officially takes place on Friday 25 November and Cyber Monday is set for Monday 28 November. However, many companies are starting their sales early, with some including Secret Escapes, already attracting travellers to book Black Friday holiday deals early – we’ve already spotted up to 68 per cent off getaways on the website.
From European city breaks to far-flung beach escapes and luxury staycations, there are plenty of trips to save on this Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Here’s our pick of the best places to browse for discounts…
Booking.com
This year, you’ll have two weeks to save at least 30 per cent in Booking.com’s Black Friday sale. From 17 November to 1 December, there’ll be discounts on participating accommodations across the globe, including 408 in the UK. The best bit is that bookings are valid for stays up until 31 December 2023, giving you complete flexibility to travel now or over the next year. Whether it’s an eco-designed seaside apartment in Mexico, or a charming boutique hotel in Manchester, you could make huge savings on accommodation.

The Black Friday sale also includes up to 25 per cent off rental cars from participating suppliers. Booking.com’s rental car sale will go live from 24 November to 1 December 2022, valid for bookings all through 2023.

Secret Escapes
Secret Escapes has named its Black Friday holiday sale Black November and the event is now live. Kicking off on Friday 11 November, the deals website’s Black November extravaganza includes a 72-hour price drop from 11 to 13 November, free upgrades from 18 to 20 November, a time-limited flash sale on returning best-sellers (21 and 24 November launch) and a four-day mega price drop sale with incredible discounts of up to 60 per cent over Black Friday weekend from 25 to 28 November.
Arctic Fox Igloos/Secret Escapes
You can expect close-to-home getaways, such as exclusive rates on a host of London stays including a new five-star city retreat in Covent Garden, spa stays including a Cornish hotel on the Mawgan Porth coast and rural retreats including an enchanting North Yorkshire stay on a country estate. Elsewhere, there are discounts on stays at the new Hoxton in Rome, fly and flop getaways in the Maldives and spellbinding Lapland holidays with glass igloos.
SECRET ESCAPES’ BLACK FRIDAY SALE
Lastminute.com
For 2022, Lastminute.com is offering discounts on package holidays (flight + hotel bookings) from 21 November 2022. There will be a low deposit offered for these holidays: usually the deposit requested for its instalment payment plan is £70, but this Black Friday customers will only have to pay a £50 deposit (T&Cs apply).
There will be voucher codes showing on the website, which will offer a £100 discount on package holidays when you spend a minimum of £1,000, a £200 discount when you spend at least £2,500 and £300 off when you spend a minimum of £4,000. In addition, Lastminute.com is offering a gift card discount of 50 per cent off its £50, £100 and £150 cards.
LASTMINUTE.COM BLACK FRIDAY SALE
CitizenM
Affordable luxury hotel brand CitizenM has started its Black Friday sale early and is offering guests a free six-month trial of the mycitizenM+ membership and up to a 33 per cent off stays at its 30 properties in Europe, Asia, and the US until the end of its sale on 29 November. This is for stays booked before 30 June 2023 and includes a host of destinations including London, Paris, New York, Amsterdam, Kuala Lumpur, Washington DC and Glasgow.

The mycitizenM+ membership guarantees a room – with an extra 10 per cent discount on the lowest public rate – even during busy periods, for all member reservations made at least 48 hours in advance. Additional perks include free late check-out and a free upgrade to a premium view room (subject to availability), a ‘first in queue’ chat service, early access to discounts, and members-only events. Guests without a membership can still access the sale at 30 per cent off starting from 14 November 2022 for stays until 30 June 2023.

This year, the company is promising its best deals ever for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with over 90 experiences on offer and some with over 75 per cent off when the sale goes live on 18 November 2022.

VIRGIN EXPERIENCE DAYS’ BLACK FRIDAY SALE
EasyJet
The low-cost airline and package provider launched Orange Fridays in the run-up to Black Friday, saying it believes travellers should enjoy great deals throughout the year and not just as a one off. Every Friday for four weeks, EasyJet is offering up to £200 off packages to certain destinations on its website, revealing the promotional code and destination each Thursday via social media for customers to find and displaying the code on its website each Friday.

One week it was Spain, which gave travellers a saving of £200 with a minimum spend of £2,000 or a saving of £100 with a minimum spend of £700. The offer applied to all EasyJet holidays to Spain from any UK airport, for travel until 31 March 2024. There were also flight only deals and a flash sale with 15 per cent off selected flights to Spain.
